Assimilation is the biggest missed opportunity in your church.
Sure, you’ve got some of the pieces that make up an assimilation system.
Greeters at the door.
A free gift for first-time guests.
A membership class (maybe even with free lunch).
A follow-up email.
Groups, ministry teams, discipleship programs…
But here’s the problem: you’re still not seeing guests actually engage.
When it does happen, it feels more like an accident than a plan.
The truth is, most churches run assimilation at about 30% effectiveness.
Enough to feel like you’re doing something… not enough to unlock transformational discipleship.
So why does it get overlooked?
Because assimilation isn’t just another ministry program. It’s the circulatory system of your church.
When it’s strong, new life is flowing to every ministry consistently.
But when it’s weak, everyone suffers.
And that’s why so many churches feel like they’re always running hard, but never making real progress.
You don’t want your church to grow just for more butts in seats.
You want more and better disciples—that’s why we all do what we do.
But here’s the truth (that you already know):
you can only make a disciple out of a connected person.
Connection always precedes discipleship.
And the bigger your church gets, the more crucial this becomes.
Because without assimilation, size can make your church feel impersonal.
But with the right system in place, size gives you resources to make it more personal than ever.
Assimilation is how you multiply connection, not lose it.
It’s how you turn crowds into communities and consumers into disciples.
And the best time to start building a stronger system?
Before this Sunday’s guests walk out the back door.

I’m Greg Curtis 👋
Years ago, I was leading assimilation at Eastside Christian Church — one of the fastest-growing churches in the country.
Guests were flooding in like never before… and my job was to make sure they didn’t leave drift a fight.
That’s when I developed what we now call the 4P Assimilation Framework — a simple, four-part system that connected 1 in 4 guests into serving members.
(For context, the national average is 1 in 20 at best.)
Here’s the secret:
One Place to identify guests and…
One Program to connect them.
Two Processes that funnel them securely into…
Two Placements where they belong and grow.
You probably already have these pieces.
They’re just scattered.
When you align them, connection becomes inevitable. Guests don’t just attend — they stay, serve, and grow.
So why call it “Climbing the Assimilayas”?
Because showing up at your church isn’t a coast for guests. It’s a CLIMB.
And nobody should climb alone.
That’s why every guest deserves a Sherpa — someone to guide them all the way to the summit of full connection with God and others.
And yes… full disclosure: the name started as a dad joke. But it stuck. 🧗♂️😂

Don’t spend another year fixing the wrong things.
Let us help you turn activity into impact — and guests into disciples.

Plug-and-play tools — pre-service huddles, email templates, job descriptions, and more — so you don’t reinvent the wheel every week.
You can’t wander your way into better outcomes.
You’ve tried the quick fixes, the campaigns, the free lunches… and guests still slip away.

But instead, it’s only $150/month or $1500/year.
Ready to make assimilation this year’s priority and upgrade something every single month? Go annual and save $300.
Need to pop in and out when you know you can hit it hard for a month? Go monthly.
We’d love to have you either way :)
Good news too — right now, as a Founding Sherpa, you can lock in for just $120/month or $1,200/year.
The Sherpa Commitment Guarantee for Annual Sherpa Tribe Members
We don’t do “easy outs.” We do commitment—to you.
That’s why our guarantee isn’t just about refunds — it’s about making sure you actually get results.
Here’s how it works:
Join with an annual membership.
Work through at least one Action Plan and attend at least 4 huddles.
If you’re not seeing progress, we’ll give you 2 private coaching calls to troubleshoot your system.
If after that you still feel it’s not worth it, we’ll refund the remaining balance of your annual membership.
We’re not letting you climb alone — we’ll lean in until you get value.

The Sherpa Tribe is a monthly or annual membership program that helps your church build and sustain a wildly effective assimilation system. You’ll get access to over 10 hours of video content in the form of “Monthly Action Plans,” weekly live Sherpa Huddles (group coaching calls), plug-and-play templates/tools, and a community of leaders to keep you moving. It’s not a course you shelve — it’s a system you actually implement.
-
…Yes! We all know that church leaders most often wear at least 2 or 3 hats… and depending on church size, assimilation ends up on a lot of different people’s plates. In the Sherpa Tribe you’ll find every type of role, every size church, and a whole lot of expressions of church. That’s what makes this community so rich.
-
Plan on 1-2 hours per week during a 30-day sprint. We try to only put one big idea/action step in front of you per session in each Action Plan, so that you can actually go implement it! So a 10-15 minute video + a 60-minute huddle + 1-2 hours to go do the work. Many Sherpas delegate pieces to volunteers or other team members, so the workload doesn’t fall only on them.
-
Nationally, only 1 in 20 guests ever connect. Churches using this framework regularly see 1 in 4 guests connected when the system is fully installed. Results vary by context, but pastors consistently report instant progress in key areas, with true connection numbers growing steadily over the first 3-6 months.
-
Most churches already have the right pieces. The problem is, they’re not aligned into a clear system, and they’re not all optimized. The Sherpa Tribe helps you put the pieces together and get the most out of each one of them—so connection becomes inevitable instead of accidental.
-
This isn’t inspiration you’ll forget when you get back home. The Tribe is about implementation. You’ll be building and contextualizing a system that’s worked for hundreds of churches of every size and in every context. We’re also convinced that we have the highest level of direct coaching support offered in any membership of this kind because we love working alongside our fellow Sherpas.
-
Not necessarily. Most churches already have what they need (a ChMS, email, texting). We help you use what you have better. The wins come from alignment and clarity — not extra spending. It’s possible you’ll need a few extra pieces of the puzzle, but nothing huge.
-
Actually, the opposite. Assimilation makes big churches feel more personal than ever by multiplying guides and clear steps. The bigger you get, the more important this is — and the more resources you have to do it well.
-
No problem. Each month’s Action Plan stands on its own, and you’ll still have access to the community and resources. You can jump back into the next live huddle whenever you’re able. We do them weekly to make sure that you get at least 1-2 huddles per month—we even change the times each week to make it more accessible.
-
Yes of course! You can join month-to-month and cancel anytime before the next billing cycle if it’s not a fit — or just if you get what you need and need a month off! Come and go throughout the year however it works for you and your church. Just remember, annual memberships come with a discount and a guarantee — if you lean in and don’t see results, we’ll refund the unused portion.
