Culture isn't carried by your systems. It's carried by people.

You can build the best follow-up process in the world. Perfect huddle scripts. A guest experience that actually hums. And it still won't hold if the only person who truly gets it is you.

That's the part nobody warns you about. Connection culture doesn't live in the system — it lives in the people carrying the vision. And if that's a team of one, you're one burnout, one transition, one hard season away from watching all of it walk out the door.

Which is why this month, we're not just inviting you in. We're inviting the person next to you.

Who on your team are you not developing right now — someone a year of swimming in connection culture could change?

Before you pick that person

Here's what they'd actually be walking into.

Most people know the Sherpa Tribe exists. Fewer know what's actually inside it. So — plainly, all of it.

Weekly Coaching Huddles

Every week · Live

Live group coaching on Zoom with Greg or Tommy, every single week. You set the agenda. Bring the actual problem you're stuck on Tuesday and leave with something you can run on Sunday.

No canned content. No pre-recorded answers. And a room full of leaders doing exactly what you're doing, at churches of every size, who'll tell you what worked and what blew up.

The Action Plan Library

100+ Plug-and-Play Tools

Nothing from scratch

52 pre-service huddle guides — one per week for a full year, zero prep for your team leaders. 45 email templates for guest follow-up, volunteer outreach, and assimilation. Plus job descriptions, volunteer qualifications, group placement frameworks, and more.

You will never start from a blank page again.

A Community That Gets It

Connections directors · XPs · Lead pastors

Leaders from churches of every size and context, rebuilding the same things you are. Swap strategies, share wins, troubleshoot the thing that didn't work last Sunday. For a lot of Sherpas, these become their most valuable professional relationships.

Piece this together anywhere else — a consultant, a coach, a course, a conference — and you'd spend $6,000 or more in a year. Easily. And it would end. This doesn't: it keeps going every week, with people who know your church by name.

Now the real question

Who's your second seat?

Most leaders already have a name in mind by now. If you don't, here's where it usually is.

Your XP or lead pastor

They drop into a Huddle when they can, poke through resources when something comes up, and get a direct line to us. Mostly: they start seeing what you see. You stop having to translate it.

A campus pastor

Connection culture doesn't travel through a staff meeting recap. Put them in the room and it travels to a location you can't be at every single week.

The volunteer you've been developing

You've been pouring into them for a year, handing them pieces as they're ready. This hands them the whole picture — and a room full of people who'll take them seriously.

The staff member you're raising up

There's no seminary class on this. No conference track that goes this deep. This is a full year of real professional development for someone you probably couldn't otherwise fund.

The value case

Why this is one of the smartest investments your church can make.

P

Professional development

There is no seminary class on assimilation. No conference track that goes this deep. The Tribe gives whoever owns guest connection an ongoing education in the one area that touches every other part of church health — and this month, it gives it to two of them.

C

Cheaper than staff

A full-time connections hire runs $40,000–$70,000 a year. Part-time still runs $15,000–$25,000. The Tribe is $2,400 — and right now that number covers two people, not one.

R

Results, not theory

The national average is 1 in 20 guests connecting long-term. Churches that build the system with us typically at least double that within 6 to 12 months. That's not a promise — it's what we consistently see when leaders actually implement.

From inside the Tribe

What happens when you stop climbing alone.

"

We were not seeing great connections coming out of our Next Steps program. I knew something needed to change, but I wasn't sure what it was, how to do it, or honestly — if I even wanted to. Conversations in Tribe Huddles helped me see the change that was needed and gave me the courage to actually make it. After just two of them, our volunteer retention from Next Steps went from 8% up to 51%. You don't have to do this on your own. You don't have to come up with all the systems and processes by yourself.

Our biggest change is how we connect with first-time guests — texting them and making it personal. Game changer. We've been doing it long enough now that we're seeing people we reached out to as first-time guests become members. Huge win.

"

We had a fairly good idea of our destination. What was holding us back most was being so turned around we didn't have a clear grasp of our starting line. The fog is beginning to lift enough that we can far more accurately assess where we are. Anyone in ministry would tell their people we weren't created to do life alone — we just often forget that applies to us too.

If you need a yes first

How to bring this to your team.

Most of you don't control this line item alone. That's exactly why we gave this a full month instead of a weekend — so you have room to make the ask well, before next year's numbers get locked.

Lead with development, not tools

  • Your XP hears "another subscription" and stops listening.
  • They hear "a year of professional development for two staff, for $2,400" and lean in.
  • Ask which line item this actually belongs in. Staff development and training budgets often go underspent.
  • Name the second person out loud in the ask. Development requests get approved when they have a face attached.

The numbers that land

  • A full-time connections hire: $40,000–$70,000. Part-time: $15,000–$25,000.
  • One consultant day costs more than a full year of this.
  • Pieced together elsewhere: $6,000+ a year.
  • You're already paying to get guests in the door. This is what keeps them.

When they ask "why two?"

  • Because one trained person is a single point of failure.
  • Because culture spreads person to person, not memo to memo.
  • Because it costs the church nothing extra this month.
  • Because the second seat closes August 31 and won't be back.
Steal this — paste it into an email or a staff meeting agenda

"I want to put in for the Sherpa Tribe this year — it's $2,400 for the whole year, and it's the coaching and system-building support behind how we connect guests. Two things make right now the moment: through August they're including a second full seat at no cost, so I'd bring [name] in with me, and that's a full year of real professional development for both of us. There's nothing else out there that goes this deep on assimilation, and a single consultant day would cost us more than the entire year. Can I walk you through it this week?"

Second seat questions

The details.

How does my second person actually get in?
When you join, there's a spot to enter the name and email of the person you're bringing. They'll receive their own invitation within two business days — their own login, nothing for you to set up.
I'm already a Tribe member. Do I get one?
Yes. Email tommy@assimilayas.com and we'll set it up. Your second seat runs alongside your current membership for whatever time you have left in your term — four months left means four months for your second person. If you'd rather give them a full year, renewing early in August restarts the clock for both of you.
Does my second person really get everything?
Everything. Their own login, the full Action Plan library, every weekly Huddle, all 100+ tools and templates, and the community. Not a shared login and not a limited view — a real second membership.
What happens to their seat after the year?
The second seat is good for one year and doesn't auto-renew — no surprise charge, nothing to remember to cancel. Near the end of the year we'll talk about whether it makes sense to keep them in.
Can I add or swap who it is later?
You can claim the seat now and name the person later — just tell us before you're ready to onboard them. If your team changes mid-year, email us and we'll move the seat. We'd rather it be used by the right person than sit unused for principle's sake.
What if they can't make the weekly Huddles?
The Huddles are exactly where a second seat develops — it's the room where the real growth happens, so that's the one thing worth protecting on their calendar. They run at rotating times, so between the two of you, you'll catch at least one or two every month. And every Action Plan stands completely on its own for the weeks in between.
How much time does this actually take?
Plan on 1–2 hours a week during an active sprint: a 10–15 minute video, a 60-minute Huddle, and an hour to go implement. A second seat is often exactly how churches split that load instead of stacking it on one person.
Do we need new software or a bigger budget to make this work?
Almost never. Most churches already have what they need. The wins come from alignment and clarity, not more spending.

The second seat closes August 31.

One membership. Two people being developed. Then it's back to one.
